The Field-Dog Chamomile

The field-dog chamomile (Anthemis arvensis) is a plant of the family Asteraceae (Asteraceae).

As sites are lands, wastelands and roadsides, particularly preferred to lime-free, acidic soils. This species is common throughout Europe.

The one-year herbaceous plant with branched, erect or spreading stems height reached 10-50 cm. The alternate leaves are pinnate and radiate when rubbed repeatedly no characteristic odor.

Körbchenförmige The inflorescence is composed of white tongue and yellow tubular flowers and has a diameter of about 2-3 centimeters. The flower head is in contrast to the genuine chamomile (Matricaria recutita) inside filled pithy. The bracts are up about margin entire or toothed.

The flowering period is from June to September (Germany / Austria).
